A Heavenly Centerpiece

I gathered some peonies to set out on the table, and they make such a statement all by themselves.

Shimmering Shade

My shade garden is at peak beauty this time of year.  The hosta leaves have unfurled, pink azaleas are popping, and the mosquitoes have not yet come out to play.  Serenity rules the day.  I continue to strive for more fullness and cohesiveness throughout these garden beds, and my goal this year is to simplify and streamline the variety of perennials and to replace poor performers, while adding some sturdier characters.  It's decision time, and so this will be one area of the garden that I tackle this summer.

Mother's Day on the Farm

It was a blissful weekend with wonderful weather, sweet surprises (my son lost another baby tooth!), and lazy hours spent chilling out on the farm.  The kids found caterpillars and dug out earthworms, my husband mapped out our future Kitchen Garden, and I continued to add perennials to the garden borders.  It was the perfect Mother's Day for me, my family is so precious and I treasure them so dearly.
